September 2019 Events

If you are planning to head to the beautiful Dolphin Coast over the September school holidays, you will find a host of great events for you to attend. Here is a list of just some of the awesome things going on around the North Coast.

Bok en Band in Ballito
On Saturday the 21st September, Bok van Blerk and his band will be performing live at the Linc Church campus in Ballito. The event starts at 19:00 and offers hours of dancing fun for the whole family. Bok van Blerk will be performing some of his biggest hits such as “Ons vir jou SA” and “De La Rey.”

Matthew Mole
Matthew Mole will be performing at the Heritage Day Music in the Park event on the 24th of September. The event takes place from 12:00 to 18:00 at Chris Saunders Park in Umhlanga. There will be plenty of South African food, wines, and beers available. Matthew Mole will be supported by a list of local Durban musicians at this family-friendly event.

Skabenga’s Pirate Birthday Party
The famous resident cat at the Oyster Box hotel is celebrating his birthday with a pirate-themed party. The event takes place on the 25th and 26th of September from 12:00 to 15:00. Tickets are R390 per adult and R200 per child. You will be treated to an afternoon filled with games, music, fun events, and delicious snacks.

Durban Street Food Festival
The Durban Street Food Festival will be taking place at the Hay Store Venue on Camperdown Road from the 27th to the 29th of September. Experience the best of Durban’s street food from a variety of food trucks and stalls. There will be live music shows and entertainment for the whole family. Taste a selection of local craft gin and beers to go with the delicious food. Kids under 12 are free and adult tickets are R50.

Jeremy Loops
The ever-popular Jeremy Loops will be performing at the Music at the Lakes event at the Botanic Gardens in Durban on the 29th of Septemeber. Bad Peter will be the supporting act and the event runs from 13:00 to 17:00. There will be food and drinks available and entertainment is provided for children. Tickets cost between R20 and R170.

If you are on an extended holiday or have kids with a different holiday schedule, you may be able to enjoy your Dolphin Coast holiday around the 6th of October. The Parlotones will be performing at Sugar Rush Park just outside of Ballito. The event will run from 13:00 to 17:00 and tickets are very limited. Spend an afternoon listening to one of the biggest bands in South Africa in a unique venue. Tickets cost between R20 and R150.
